Lagos Life is a Sims-style life simulator set in Lagos, Nigeria, played in your browser. You control one Sim: you keep them fed, rested and happy, send them to work, pay rent and slowly climb from a shared room in Mushin to a Banana Island mansion. The twist is that the city is shared. Everyone you see at Quilox or Amala Shitta could be another real player.

- Create an accountPick a username and password and enter your date of birth. The game is for adults 18 and over. Add a recovery email in settings later: it is the easiest way back in if you forget your password.
- Make your Sim and pick traitsChoose a look, then traits such as Hustler (Hustle grows 50% faster), Foodie or Night Crawler. Seeskills & traits for every trait's effect.

- Follow the starter goalsThe game hands you eight small goals that pay cash, from "Eat something" (+₦500) to "Reach level 2 in a skill" (+₦3,000). Our Play window shows them as a checklist.
What you see on screen
You start inside your home, drawn as an isometric room. Around the edges are your money, the clock and day, your needs bars and a bar of buttons: Map to travel, Phone for almost every menu, Buy to furnish your home, and your Sim's panel for needs and skills.
Tap an object to see what you can do with it. A mattress offers Sleep and Nap; a cooler offers food; a laptop offers coding practice and, once your Coding skill is high enough, paid freelance work. At venues, tapThings to do to see that place's activities and prices.
Needs: keep the bars green
Your Sim has six needs. They drain over time, and when they run low your mood drops, work goes worse and some activities lock. The game's own advice is simple: "Green bars make a happy Sim."

Getting a job and going to work
Open Phone → Jobs and pick a career. Each job has a workplace, a shift time and working days. When it's time, tap Go to work, or tick Go automatically so your Sim leaves on their own. You are paid at the end of each shift.
Good shifts raise your performance. At 100% performance you move up a grade (I → II → III → IV), each with a bit more pay, and then get promoted to the next title once you also meet that level's skill, shift and reputation targets. Rent, bills and money
Rent comes off every Saturday at 9 AM Lagos time, along with wages for any house staff and insurance premiums. Moving into a new home costs three weeks' rent up front: two weeks in advance plus one week's agent and agreement fee. Fall two weeks behind and the landlord serves a quit notice and moves you to a face-me-I-face-you in Mushin.
- Income tax only starts after ₦1,000,000 earned in a week, so normal salaries are tax-free. Above that it's 20%, then 30% above ₦10,000,000 and 35% above ₦50,000,000.
- Spare cash can sit in the Naija Reserve Bank (Phone → Bank) to earn interest, or in 7-day bonds.
- Game money can be topped up with real money, but it can never be cashed out. Anyone offering to buy or cash out Lagos Life naira is running a scam.

Goals and aspirations
Besides the starter goals, you pick a lifetime aspiration. Each one is a long-term target:
- 👔 Oga at the Top: Reach the top level of any career.
- 🏡 Lekki Landlord: Build a net worth of ₦1,000,000.
- 🎤 Afrobeats Star: Max out the Music skill (level 10).
- 🤝 Everybody's Padi: Become Paddy Mi (best friends) with 4 people.
- 🦄 Yaba Unicorn: Get your startup funded at CcHub, Yaba.
Log in on consecutive days for a streak reward that builds up through the week, ending in a "Big Sunday chest" of₦50,000 and 3 blessings on day 7.
Mistakes new players make
- Spending rent money on Friday night. Keep at least one week's rent aside before you party at Quilox.
- Ignoring Hygiene. It hurts social actions and your mood at work. A bucket bath is free.
- Walking everywhere. Trekking is free but slow and tiring; a danfo is ₦100 plus ₦5 per km.
- Missing shifts. Tick "Go automatically" on your job.
- Betting the rent. LagosBet and the casino use real game money. The game's own tip: "rent and food come first."
- Sending money to strangers. No one can double your naira. Report "fake alert" offers.
